Restoration, Preservation, and Heirlooming Services

We receive many inquiries from brides about what is the best way to have their gown preserved after the wedding.  Many people believe that having their dress cleaned and packed in acid free paper in a box by a dry cleaner will safely preserve it.  However, the gown is not protected from moisture and other atmospheric contaminants, and in 2-4 years the aging of the fabric is already in progress.

The Hope Chest offers a safe and reliable preservation service through Heirloomed Memories.  This is one of the largest and oldest heirloomers in the country.  Once they receive your gown, it is examined, tested, cleaned and finally packed with preserving gases in a vacuum-sealed chest complete with a viewing window, so you can keep your beautiful gown on display forever instead of hidden away in some closet out of view and often forgotten.  In searching for a reputable and cost effective heirloomer, we found prices ranged from $75 to $350!!  Since offering heirlooming at our shop, many brides

have been very pleased with the quality of service provided by Heirloomed Memories.  Most importantly the dress is
guaranteed for 50 years.  The cost for heirlooming a wedding gown is $150 to $230 depending on the condition of the dress.  Many brides also preserve their veils, garters, gloves, bridal bags, and other keepsakes.  Very reasonable pricing on theses additional items is available as well.  We recommend items be preserved as soon after wearing as possible for maximum
protection.
All heirlooming must be prepaid.

For discolored gowns Heirloomed Memories offers a color restoration service.  They do a remarkable job of restoring aged garments to their original color.  With color restoration girls who want to wear their mother's or even grandmother's
wedding gown are now able to do so.  Occasionally a husband will bring us his wife's aged and yellowed wedding dress for restoration and heirlooming as a surprise wedding anniversary gift.  It's a great way to say, "I love you."  Parents or grooms frequently are at a loss as to what to get the bride for a wedding present.  We often suggest an
heirlooming gift certificate tucked into a special card for a gift she will treasure for years to come.
